I tap download and it’ll go but then go back to having the get bar... I don’t know what else to do. My software is up to date and everything.

If that is the procedure you are using and failing, do you have restrictions set? Check Settings > General > Restrictions.
I have the iPhone 8 Plus and since I got it I have not been able to download game pigeon. Does anyone know what I should do?
