Is the T-Mobile version of the iPhone X unlocked?

I am planning to buy an iPhone X from the US which is to be used in India. Will the T-Mobile version of the iPhone X support a different carrier like say Vodafone? Also even if it does support will i be needing an account/contract with T-Mobile while purchasing the phone?

The phone will be locked to the carrier unless they unlock it. To unlock it, you'll have to follow a set of their rules and get them to unlock it, if they even will. Your best bet to get an unlocked phone is to get one from Apple that is unlocked.
