Boot Camp doesn't find Windows 8.1 ISO file

Hello everyone!

I have an early 2011 MacBook Pro with macOS High Sierra and I want to install Windows 8.1 using Boot Camp Assistant (the version I have is the 6.1.0). I have downloaded the 64bit ISO file from the Microsoft website, so I do not have a physical CD. Once I launch Boot Camp and check all the boxes, it says "Installation disc is not found, please insert the installation Windows disk, then wait a few seconds for the disk to be recognized". Does that mean I need to burn the ISO file to a CD without Boot Camp? I thought Boot Camp only needed the ISO file and that you could burn the file to a USB drive or CD through Boot Camp. Is there something I didn't correctly understand? Could it possibly be that my Boot Camp version doesn't recognize Windows 8.1?

Thank you for your help!

BC Assistant for your specific 2011 model must use the built-in Optical drive and a physical DVD. Burn the ISO to a blank DVD-R SL medium by right-clicking on the ISO, and choosing Burn. Expand the dialog and follow prompts
