Carriers dont work on mine

So i bought a new phone from target about 3 months ago. It was on clearence so i decided to get it. When i got home it said it needed a sim card. We went to metroPCS a week later and it said the sim wasnt suported either, they told us to go to verizon or sprint , and those didnt work either.i went back to target , and they said to go get a carrier and unlock it, which is what im trying to do.Tonight i saw a 1$ sim instalation kit with 3 different sims. They didnt work either. I need help, i can return it anymore, and i cant activate it.
