Better battery life from wireless keyboard with bluetooth dongle?

My 2011 iMac uses Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR and I wonder if I got a USB dongle compatible with a more recent version of Bluetooth if I might gain better battery life?

I don't know what version of Bluetooth the MC184LL/B model is compatible with, but all the dongles on Amazon seem to be v4.0 compatible.

Any thoughts on achieving this please?
