add google calendar as default calendar on iPad pro

I would like to set google calendar as my default calendar on my ipad PRO (and iphone).

The "Calendar" setting (via the iPad settings) does not seem to 'see' my installed google calendar app so I can't simply select the google calendar as default.

Any ideas?

Thank you,

Francesca

The default calendar on an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch is Apple’s iOS calendar. There is no way to alter that. That’s why there is no alternate available in the Calendar settings.

If you want Google Calendar as your default app, you’re going to need to buy a Google device.

Under Accounts and Passwords, you can have any (and multiple) calendar showing in the calendar app (or any 3rd party calendar app that pulls data from your accounts). But there is no way to alter the default calendar app (same with default maps app, default mail app, default messanging app, etc).
