wrong email comes up for icloud log in

iMac.

El Capitan 10.11.6

I recently changed my email address on my apple ID as the domain has become obsolete, but every time I reboot an iCloud dialogue box comes up with the error message ‘this mac couldn’t connect to iCloud because of a problem with ‘old email address’. It also happens when I send an email from mac and when In try to go into icloud to change the settings its defaulted to the old email address and says ‘enter there apple ID password for ‘od email address’. how do I flush put the old email, dress so ib can gain access to iCloud? thanks

I had signed out of old email address, but it kept coming up as default, and hence couldn't log into old or new. I sorted it out eventually.
