Media Buttons not working for High Sierra

Hi! I updated to macOS High Sierra in my MacBook Pro with Retina, and since I updated, my media buttons are not working for anything. Every other button works fine. I already submitted my feedback to Apple Support, and I noticed that I am not the only one this has happened to. Anyone have the same problem, or already figured out how to solve this problem?

Hey juli.varelap!

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities. I understand you're having some trouble with the media buttons on your MacBook, and I'd be more than happy to help. Because the issue has only been present since upgrading to High Sierra, we should start by testing some software aspects and branch outward from there. First, let's try booting your Mac in safe mode and test the media buttons there: Use safe mode to isolate issues with your Mac - Apple Support

Check if the media buttons respond while in safe mode, then reboot the system normally to exit safe mode and test again. If the issue seems to disappear, it was likely the something in the cache files that was corrected when the computer was booted in safe mode. If it still isn't working, let's create a test user account and try the media buttons there: How to test an issue in another user account on your Mac - Apple Support

The test user article also has some great information about how to proceed based on if the issue is or isn't present in the test account, so be sure to run through the entire article.

Also be sure to make note of any results you get and update this thread, that way I can keep working with you if neither of these suggestions yields any change. Cheers!
