Question: After heavy usage it starts to lag

Hello, I have a Mac mini (late 2012) in witch I've recently changed the hard drive to SSD, before changing the hard drive, if I used it heavily ( like to renderize videos) it didn't lag, but now when I do the same thing it does.

These are my specs:

EtreCheck version: 3.4.6 (460)

Report generated 2017-11-12 18:04:14

Download EtreCheck from https://etrecheck.com

Runtime: 2:09

Performance: Excellent

Answer:

I tried the old ram and it didn't work, then I found out that Mac has installed a hardware test system (while you boot hold option + d) so I tried it and it said that there was a problem with the fan so I took it out to clean it up. When I was taking it out extra-carefully because there should of been a cable connected I saw that the fan cable wasn't connected so I cleaned the fan and put it back in with the fan connected and that's problem solved.

Thanks a lot for your help it was very useful.

what software are you using to render? if it's a 3rd party solution have you checked on their forums for any insight.

Shut down

Disconnect all external devices except mouse, keyboard, video

reset the smc

reset the NVRAM

then boot into safe mode

then reboot normally with devices disconnected.

if problems persist consider removing the duet driver and the iglasses software to test.

I've done everything you've said, I have checked and there is nothing about it but I think that it may be the Mac because when I play a online game like any .io game or Happy Wheels the same thing happens also if I play Minecraft... Now what should I do?

don't know Happy Wheels but I'm ashamed to say I still play way too much minecraft and can suggest there may be external factors as to it's behavior on any machine.

did this just start happening or has it always been laggy?

see this article and pay special attention to the part about memory pressure.
