I have two Apple ID accounts, apparently, and I'd like to combine them so all my email addresses can be associated with the one Apple ID account I use. Is it possible to delete an entire Apple ID account so that the email associated with that account can be tied to my active account, or can I merge two existing accounts?

You can't merge 2 Apple IDs. The e-mail address associated with the account you want to delete can't be reused as part of another Apple ID for about a year.
If you contact Apple ID Support, they may be able to help you do what you want to do.
