can not send attachments APPLE Mail

I have not been able to send mail attachments from apple mail. I know my password yet everytime I try to reset it tells me the password is wrong. I can however sign in online with that password. And as a BandAid I am using Microsoft Outlook which can send mail attachments. When I use Connection Doctor it says imap.mail.yahoo.com SMTP and IMAP is "green" connected. I would much rather use Apple for email but it is impossible since I send attachments for my business everyday. Can you help?

Start by removing the outgoing mail server and any other outgoing mail server in mail preferences that connect or relates to the email account.

Apply all to save changes then quit mail effectively in the top left menu bar next to the apple logo.

Open system preferences and select internet accounts

And remove the the imap account.

In the finder menu after all applications are closed, select the go menu and hold the alt key down to exposed the library, select it, then find the mail folder and open it. You will see a V5 folder double click on it then a numeric folder or folders containing POP or IMAP accounts, find the one you’re having trouble with and delete it.

Please note:

Only IMAP accounts sync with what’s on webmail.

So whatever is on yahoo.com will re-sync back to the computer automatically once the account is added again.
