Why am I getting error message? "SQLite Error 10 - disk I/O error"?

I get this message only (so far) when I run my RootsMagic genealogy program for Mac (I believe it uses crossover).

I will work on the computer for a while, then get error messages, this one received today: "SQLite Error 10 - disk I/O error". What is this message telling me? Is the appearance of this message telling me that part of my data will be disappearing(?) or that it is being corrupted(?) or something else is happening that I need to take action to correct?

Any assistance would be GREATLY appreciated. Thank you.
