Removing old iTunes Associated Devices

I have 10 devices associated with my itunes.

I no longer own 3 of these devices.

I want to remove them - the standard process will not work.

Using the manage devices page the option to remove is greyed out.

Help - how can I have these removed?

I have followed the standard instructions, but I no longer own the devices so this does NOT help me.
