high sierra crashes iterm2/terminal after a while

I've upgraded to High Sierra (10.13.1 (17B48)) last Thursday and ive been getting some weird behaviour from time to time.

It all runs OK, and when the crash happens

1. I cannot type `top` in the terminal (iterm2)

2. I cannot open a new `terminal` window (the window apears in the dock, but clicking it does not make it active/visible) (it goes straight to `application not responding`)

The only solution i've found so far is rebooting (and im slowly shutting down progs im running in the background to find the culprit - if there is any).

Has anyone seen this behaviour after the update ?

I've checked some `Console` output but nothing that i could google

Did you manage to solve this issue?

I am having exactly the same problem, after some time, i just get the spinning ball in iterm2 and terminal windows, also Activity Monitor does not display processes.

Rebooting fixes it, but mine stays in "Checking policies" forever and I have to do a hard shut down.
