Mail's spam prevention doesn't work

The Icon, thumbs down, mark as junk mail, set up in Rules, are all supposed to send messages to Mail that after a few spams from the same source will automatically be deleted but that never happens. What can I do to get rid of these mail marketers that, after all these things, keep coming?

iOS mail has no spam filtering at all. The thumbs down merely places the message in your designated spam folder. If that folder is on your email providers server, and your email provider offers self-learning spam filtering, then there will be an affect. Otherwise, all iOS mail did was move the message from one folder to another.

So check your online email accounts setting’s for whatever spam or junk mail filtering your email provider offers, and make sure that your email spam folder is on their server.
