Must restore phone before restoring to factory settings!

So I screwed up and didn't back up my phone before I updated my phone. My phone died before the update finished, I don't know how since it was plugged in? Now, I have to restore my phone to factory settings before I can update it. I just got back from a trip to Africa and I have a lot of photos on there that I really can't lose. Please anyone tell me how to fix this.

If you didn't back up your photos, sync them to iCloud, or upload them to a photo site such as Google Photos or Shutterfly, or sync them with Dropbox, or sync them with box.com, or upload them to upthere.com, or a dozen other backup solutions then they are gone.

Essentially the same situation as your phone lost, phone stolen, phone confiscated by Customs & Immigration, phone run over by a bus, dropped in the Nile, etc.

You can try connecting to iTunes and running the Update again; sometimes this will complete without erasing content.
