Apple Lightning to 30-pin adapter suddenly stopped loding music in my car. still charges my iphone 6s. help!

I purchased an Apple lightning to 30-pin adapter to connect my iPhone 6s to my car’s audio system. It has worked no problem for months until it suddenly started saying “loading error” and now won’t play music. It will still charge the phone but nothing will load. Any suggestions? Could this be update related? I bought the adapter so I can safely use my audio system with my iPhone. Thanks in advance!
