Apple Watch no longer shows green lighting charge indicator, when placed on charging dock

It charges ok. But it no longer shows that green lightning bolt and charge circle, which acted as gives visual confirmation that it is actually charging...and how much or little it needed.

I’ve done several searches and can’t find anything about it. It started doing this several weeks ago. Thought it might be related to an update. But spouse’s Apple Watch has gone thru updates since then and still shows the ”% Charged” as soon as it makes a good connection to the charging disk. So, I am guessing it may be a setting. But no amount of searching has surfaced the answer for me.

Thanks

Apple Watch, watchOS 4.1
