MacBook Pro mid-2012 will not turn on

Question

I left my MacBook Pro to charge up to 100% and came back to see it was fully charged and off. I attempted to start it back up by holding down the power button and doing a SMC reset but it did not work. The battery indicator does not work unless I have it plugged into power where it is green and shows full battery. Is there any way to power it back up without taking it in for service?
