why won’t my apps update?

I recently purchased an iPhone off of someone and I signed into my iCloud account and when I try to update my apps it sais I have to sign into the other person account when I’m already signed in why is that?

The other person's Apple ID is stored inside those applications. If it's an iPhone 4 or newer, tell the seller to remove it from Find My iPhone, and then, regardless of what model it is, restore it.

First you need to erase the iPhone before you use it as yours.

Note: all apps are forever tied to the Apple ID that was used to download them.
