Mac OS Sierra asks for contacts password

Mac OS Sierra continually asks for the password for a Gmail account to update contacts. The problem is the account is logged in? How do I get this to stop?

MacBook Pro TouchBar and Touch ID, macOS Sierra (10.12.6)
