Question: Proximity sensor not working 11.1.1

Does anyone else have issues with the proximity sensor not turning off phone screen when you have the phone to your ear? I noticed it today and the 11.1.1 update posted on my phone last night

iPhone 7 Plus, iOS 11.1

I would do a Forced Restart: Hold down the home and down volume button, wait for the Apple logo, let go of the buttons.

the screen is the original and the case only covers the back and sides. the top brow is clear of any case

I was on the speaker phone when I got your reply. Just ended my call and tried a restart. That may have fixed, BUT

the first digit i diaked when I did a test call stuck . long press like i never let my finger up on the first digit keyboard

locked. Pressed the side button to turn the screen off, tone continued but stopped when I powered the screen back on

Screen does turn off when phone is to my ear. So thanks for that, but the keypad thing was weird.
