How to force an app to close on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Restart your iPhone 8 or earlier, iPad, or iPod touch
- Press and hold the Top (or Side) button until the slider appears.
- Drag the slider to turn your device completely off.*
- After the device turns off, press and hold the Top (or Side) button again until you see the Apple logo.
*With iOS 11 or later, you can turn off your device by going to Settings > General> Shut Down.
1. Delete the contact and the message thread
2. Restart device
3. Re-add the contact
4. Send message to contact and see if you get a notification when they respond.
I’ve tried shutting down and restarting my phone. That didn’t work. I tried force closing the messages app. That didn’t work and the contact that I’m talking about is not on do not disturb. I get their messages just no notification. From only that one person
Have a 6 Plus. I start to get messages, then they disappear. Also has messed up important saved mail.
