import calendar to iCloud calendar

how do you import a calendar ics file to iCloud calendar? i can only find instructions for MAC OS High Sierra.

Open the Calendar application on your Mac and create a new calendar. Then from the File menu choose Import... Select the .ics file and choose to import it into the calendar you just created. Then it will sync to iCloud (give it time).
