How do I disable Amber alerts on Apple watch 3 with LTE

If your Apple Watch is set to mirror your iPhone, this should turn them off on your Apple Watch. If it does not, then change the setting in the Watch App on your iPhone to "Custom" instead of "Mirror my Phone". Then disable Show Alerts.

Tried both with my iphone 6 with no success. I then repaired the iphone and watch, and although it seemed to work initially, I started get blitzed another Amber alert. I still don't get them on my phone, but keep getting the same alert repeatedly on the iwatch. Please help!
