Switch volume from touchbar to physical - and + buttons?

Hi guys,

I edit videos and run through hundreds of clips for a project and each clip may have a different volume level. I don't find the touchbar intuitive enough, or responsive enough so that when a clip starts blaring in my ears, I can turn the volume lower or completely off fast enough.

Is there a way to make the - and + buttons control the volume instead of using this terrible touchbar?
