Apps do not show up in iTunes 12.7.1.14

I have updated iTunes to 12.7.1.14 and the "apps" button vanished from the drop-down menu. It is not on the "Device" menu and doesn't show in any searches. I have tried various methods suggested on forums, but it isn't under views, preferences, or any place else. The apps are not even listed in the sync menu. I have uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled it to no avail. Any thoughts?

On a side note on my iPhone 7 my ring tone will not play. You can hear it when selected, but it rings default. The app that made it is on the PC, but not displayed in iTunes.
