Question: IAP - "Cannot connect to iTunes Store" when NOT first signed in in Settings > iTunes & App Stores
Having trouble submitting our app for review, as the in-app purchases are not working as expected. This is regarding an app version that is currently uploaded to Test Flight, and downloaded to an iPhone 6+ through the Test Flight app.
I am able to get purchases to work correctly by first logging in to my iTunes account in Settings > iTunes & App Stores. Our app simply asks for the password, and once entered, all is good - the purchase completes.
However, if I am not logged in, and open up the app and proceed to make a purchase, I will be prompted to choose either Use Existing Account or Create New Account (as you would expect) - however, the problem following this is that the app will then display the same pop-up again. After entering my email and password again, it fails and the response is "Cannot connect to iTunes Store" with error code 0. I have tested many times over and it is not caused by an invalid email or password being entered.
I have explained this situation to the "app reviewer" in iTunes upon attempting to get my app accepted into the app store, however they did not acknowledge this issue and stated that the purchases keep failing - I am sure it would have, if they were not logged in first.
I have no idea how to resolve this issue presently - I know that purchases are working, but that depends on if you are logged in first, or not. Please note that, yes, I have used my own email, as well as "sandbox" user accounts which were all created a-new each time and through test flight, it seems they will all fail if not logged in first in Settings > iTunes & App Stores.
I am about to re-submit the app again, and will continue to explain the situation and hopefully get some more feedback on the actual problem at hand here. If anyone else has been through this issue, please, let me know.
