There is something wrong with the Popcornflix app!

Yesterday I downloaded from the App Store on my AppleTV 4th Gen. an app named POPCORNFLIX. Immediately my remote control for the AppleTV began to move about the screen. I was not even touching the remote control. Also while viewing a video, now the progress bar always appears at the bottom of the screen, and instead of the length of the movie showing, now the actual time of day appears in that progress bar. Also the circle with the arrow in it indicating a rewind of 10 sec also is always appearing in the progress bar area. Also, even though I keep turning off subtitles, the dialogue keeps reappearing on the screen. I have reset my AppleTv, uninstalled the POPCORNFLIX app, but the remote control continues to behave inappropriately. It won't let me scroll around the screen as it should. The remote is fully charged. Has anyone else had problems with their remote control no longer working appropriately after downloading the app POPCORNFLIX? I am using the actual remote control, but did try to use the app on my iPhone for the AppleTv, and that app also had the same issues as the actual device "remote control". The trackpad no longer lets me choose the app I want to open. The cursor jumps all over the home screen of the AppleTV 4th Gen. What's wrong with this app?

I have an iPhone and I had that app for the AppleTV installed on it. I tried to use that app to control my AppleTV, but it was as useless as the remote control that came with the device. Apple suggested that the actual device (remote control) was experiencing an interference with the AppleTV remote app. I don't know why, but since removing the app from my iPhone, and after deleting POPCORNFLIX from my AppleTV, some of the errors has stopped.
