Touch ID Not Working After 11.1.1 Update

I have an iPhone 8 and the touch id stopped working for only one of my finger prints, but still works for the other after I updated to 11.1.1. I have deleted the not working finger print and redoing it and that did not fix the problem. I have completed a hard restart. I am trying to avoid a complete resetting of my phone, if possible.

This is the first issue that I have had with my phone since I got it. I never experienced any of the problems that I have heard that many others have had. I didn't even have any of the issues with the keyboard that was what prompted the 11.1.1 update to begin with, but now I have this issue. Has anyone else experienced this? Any thoughts on how it might be corrected?
