Siri not responding/Alarm not working

I recently upgraded from my iPhone 6s to iPhone 8 plus. I've noticed a few things that have been really bugging me lately. Siri often does not respond to my voice when I say "hey siri" even in the most quiet of places. For example, last night I was going to bed. I said "hey siri" about twice in my normal voice and she did not work. I actually had to raise my voice to a very uncomfortable tone. I just reset siri and my own voice but still having the same issues. I am on the latest firmware 11.1.1.

Another issue is that my alarm is not working. When I ask Siri to set my alarm for lets say, 5am tomorrow morning, it shows it being turned on, but the next morning it doesn't go off and I end up late for work. This has happened to me 3 times now. Checked my volume and even made sure it was up.

Does anyone know whats going on?
