Apple Watch 3 Step counts not accurate

I've noticed that when I mow my 3 acre yard I close all the circles by a multiple of 2X. Problem is I'm on a riding mower. Apparently the watch is somehow measuring distance (GPS?) then converting to steps and activity.

IS there a way to stop this?

Some other users have reported experiencing similar issues when travelling at slower speeds via methods other than walking or running (for example: riding in golf carts, on mopeds or on horses).


It may help to calibrate your watch (which teaches your watch how your arm movements relate to walking or running at different speeds):
