We want to submit an App for approval in December, but need to know whether there will be a freeze period over the holiday season that could delay the launch. There was a freeze period in 2016. Could this be repeated this year?
They usually have a freeze around Christmas, but they haven't announced the freeze dates yet. If you want to be sure your app will be in the App Store before the freeze, you should submit by December 11 so the app reviewers can review your app the week of December 11.

Just so you know, there is no guarantee of a timely review, or approval, for that matter. I still see people complaining about this on the developer forums all the time. If you have a deadline, things might not go so well.
Hi etresoft, I am not concerned about the merits of our application as such, but rather whether there will be a period over which we won't be able to submit an App for review or expect a reply. That would impact on our dev deadlines.
