How do I get the photo’s back from my whatsapp chats?

I have an Iphone 6 with 64GB and with an icloud storage of 200GB using 54GB.

Recently, I had to transfer my data to another phone. I have everything backed up in icloud, including my chats on whatsapp. However, all my photo’s in my chat history are not showing me more than a white photo with a question mark. All of my backups in either whatsapp (chats) or icloud (whatsapp) are on green. My videos are the only thing I can open and watch in whatsapp. How do I get the photo’s back from my whatsapp chats?

Are you saying the photos from your WhatsApp are just showing white with a question mark (within the app)? Or did you save the photos to iCloud and that's where they're showing as white with a question mark?

My photos in the chats and in the media of whatsapp are all shown as a white picture with a question mark. But the automated saved pictures are shown correctly in my icloud library.
