Hi may be a duplicate post but am looking to reinstall our Photos app on our mac. when i click on the Photos icon i just get the message,
Photos cannot find the system Photo Library named "Photos Library.photoslibrary"
Our photos are all backed up so just looking to reinstall the App, any help appreciated, thank you.

In addition to what dialabrain said:
1) there is no reason to reinstall Photos, since the application itself works properly; it is simply the designated system library that is currently not being found; follow dialabrain's indications to fix that.
2) the only way to reinstall Photos is to reinstall the OS. Should that be the case (and it is currently NOT!), it may be done over the existing OS, without erasing anything (but, as always, never try anything like an install or update with a prior backup).
The "Photos Library" should be in the Pictures folder. If it's not there or you moved it, hold the option key down when you launch Photos then point to the Photos Library or create a new one.
