Why can't I update to iOS 10.2.1?

It was more than a year ago since I updated my iPhone. Now I want to update to iOS 10.2.1 but everytime i try it says "The update can't go through because you are not connected to your network" even if I am connected to my GREAT wi-fi? Why is this happening?

Because Apple's no longer signing it. Delete it and check for updates again; you should get either 10.3.3 or 11.1.1 depending on what iPhone you have.
