Pages has updated on iPad but can no longer access any documents

iPad updated to 11.1 and Pages did an automatic update. Now I cannot open any documents, and when I try to copy or move to iCloud, am told the files no longer exist, even though I never deleted them. Any help

Good. I wonder if we're being punished for not using iCloud Drive. The first screenshot shows what I see on opening Pages, version 3.3.1. I created document "Test one" after updating Pages for iOS 11, so Pages would appear in the Files app. As you can see, it has a thumbnail and a finite size. But, if I try to delete it, I receive the notice in the second screenshot. This also happens if I try to copy it. The older files, with the Pages icon, behave similarly.

If you are using iTunes 12.7, file sharing is still available. It is a the bottom of the left sidebar when you device is connect and selected. If you didn’t transfer the files to your computer, that’s not going to help anyway, but just in case.

I assume that you are looking in the Files app for the Documents in Pages. If you try to move or copy the files, I also assume that you do see them on the iPad.Have you tried restarting or force restarting your iPad?

To force restart your device, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least ten seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

.... your profile shows iPad 2. iOS 11 does not run on an iPad 2.

Hi Diana.McCall. I wasn’t aware of this issue. I haven’t been around all that much recently. Let me see if I can replicate this. I know that I had a few documents stored locally in Pages.

Ok. I just gave it a try. No problems opening Pages files stored On my iPad or moving them to Pages in iCloud Drive. I am running iOS 11.1 and the latest Pages 3.3.1which I just updated 3 days ago.

EDIT - I just briefly read the other post you referenced. My Pages Documents are several years old and I had no problem renaming them either.
