MacBookPro with touch bar turned off when connect to external monitor

Hi,

I have a Macbook pro with touch bar and the system is updated to High Sierra.

When I tried to connect to my Samsung monitor, the Macbook won't recognize the monitor, and the macbook will suddenly shut down sometimes.

Thank you for any helps.

Hi xuannnn,

If you're having trouble with an external display not being recognized by your Mac, see the information outlined in the article linked below. Specifically relevant in this situation, due to the unexpected shutdowns you're experiencing, would be resetting your Mac's SMC and NVRAM.
...reset your Mac's NVRAM and SMC to reset the video ports on your Mac to their defaults.
