Settings -> Phone -> My Number = Unknown

I can receive calls just fine. I can make calls just fine. I get a voicemail failure message unless I manually dial *86 (verizon), then it works. When turning on iMessage I either get an activation error or it turns on and sits at the "waiting activation". I am thinking these two issues are related. My sim was taken directly from an android and plugged into the iPhone.
