KP's can be caused by either hardware or software. Try restarting in Safe Mode and see if it launches. If it does not then please answer the following:


Was any third party RAM ever installed? If the answer is yes, please remove it and replace it with the original RAM that came with the computer. Then attempt restarting, if the problem persists then it's likely a hardware issue and your next step is to make an appointment at your local AASP and take it in for service.
