I have an iphone 5 and my headphones are not working.

I have an iphone 5 and my headphones are not working. I just called someone and got off and no music plays. I tried using the beats solo headphones and those dont work either. It shows I am connected and I can pause, play, and control the volume.

Headphones are not working.
