I am trying to restart m iPod Touch but I can't seem to do so because my home button does not work. Is there any other way I could get it to turn on?

As I was trying to start my iPod Touch I noticed that the apple logo started flashing instead of fully turning on. It is currently plugged into my Mac desktop but I cannot get past the screen flashing. I read that I could try restarting it by pressing the top button and the home button at once but my home button doesn't work. Is there any other way I could get it to restart.
