How do you delete an album in Photos??

I am organizing thousands of photos on my MacBook Pro running High Sierra. I've accidentally created a few duplicate albums, folders, and smart albums and I want to delete the empty ones but cannot find a way. There was an old forum post from 2015 saying click on CONTROL and a little menu box pops up with DELETE as an option, but its not happening for me.

I am using iCloud for storage, could this be the issue?

MacBook Pro, macOS High Sierra (10.13.1)

It isn't "click on CONTROL" -- if you hold down the control key and click on the album, the menu should appear. Whether or not you have iCloud Photo Library turned on doesn't affect that.

Another method is to tap with 2 fingers on the album using the trackpad (if you have that set as your Secondary Click method in Apple menu > System Preferences > Secondary Click)
