printer connections lost/found/lost/found

my wireless network is good. Have a HP LaserJet Pro 200 & a Samsung C1860FW

OS is 10.13.1

it started with the HP, everything was fine for years, then around October it took forever to print a page. I deleted printer, reinstalled printer, deleted again, reinstalled again, then bought a new router. Now I have a new printer, Samsung C1860 out of frustration.

installed software & the samsung is better. BUT.

I open the print que when printing, and also the static IP for the printer 192.168.3.103

Print que says printer offline, I check, It isn't, even the samsung app shows a connection

When I hit print, if I do not wake the printer 1st, I end up having to delete the print que & start over again. Printing multiple documents requires multiple pause & resume operations to get it all through.

HP Printing is still slow, like 15 minutes for a page, spooling forever.

The router is located 5' from PC & 2' from printers.

Hi there, awesomemacmakesmecrazy.

I see that you're having some performance issues between your MacBook Pro and your Samsung Xpress SL-C1860FW Color Laser Multifunction Printer and your HP LaserJet Pro 200 color Printer. It appears that you have everything set up correctly, but it takes several starts and stops to even print what you have in the queue on the Samsung and 15 minutes for one page on the Hewlett Packard. I'm happy to help.

If you can‘t print from your Mac or iOS device -- Follow the steps provided in this support article.

Let me know how that goes.

Take care!
