Alarm volume on iOS 11.1

Hello,

I have a problem with the volume "set" for the alarm on my iPhone X. Whenever I set the alarm, and set the volume let's say 1 bar (0 is mute) the alarm will be triggered at volume 4 bars. This has worked fine on my previous iPhone 6 - meaning that whatever volume it was set, the alarm would use that setting.

Current iOS version: 11.1.

Things tried:

- Set different level of volume and changed the song.

- Removed the old alarm and created new one called test. Set the volume to 1 bar and still when listening the song when choosing it from the list it goes with 4 bars volume.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks,

Andrei

Hello Sno0py16!

Thanks for using the Apple Support Communities! I see from your post that you need some help adjusting the alarm volume on your iPhone X. I'm sure I can help you find all the answers you need and help you get your alarm set up at the desired volume.

The volume of your alarm is directly controlled by the ringer volume. Depending on your settings, you can use the volume keys to adjust the ringer volume of your iPhone. You can see and adjust this setting by going to Settings > Sounds & Haptics ( on supported models ) or Settings > Sounds (other models). From here you can turn off or turn on the option called Change with Buttons which will allow you to adjust the volume of both regular sounds and ringer volume using the volume keys. Please note that when this setting is turned on, when adjusting the volume, your iPhone will show "Ringer" instead of "Volume" when it's turned off.

We have another resource that goes into detail regarding alarms called How to set and manage alarms on your iPhone :

Do Not Disturb and the Ring/Silent switch don't affect the alarm sound. If you set your Ring/Silent switch to Silent or turn on Do Not Disturb, the alarm sound still goes off.

If you have an alarm that doesn’t go off, is too quiet, or if your iPhone only vibrates, check the following:

  • Check the ringer volume on your iPhone. Alarms match the volume you set for your ringer. If your alarm volume is too low or too loud, press the volume button up or down to adjust it. You can also go to Settings > Sounds & Haptics to adjust the volume.
  • If your alarm only vibrates, make sure that your alarm sound isn't set to None. Open the Clock app, tap Alarm, then tap Edit. Tap the alarm, then tap Sound and choose a Sound.
  • If you connect wired headphones, Bluetooth headphones, or speakers to your iPhone, alarm sound will play through the connected device. If you don’t hear the alarm sound while connected to these devices, disconnect from those devices and use the built-in speakers on your iPhone.

Take a look at your settings to make sure that the volume adjusts to your liking so that the alarm volume adjusts with the buttons as you prefer.

I hope this information helps you.

Kindest Regards
