Need to install LPX on another computer in the family

I need to install Logic Pro X on my wife's computer. I set up family sharing, but when I go to the App Store on her machine I only get the option to buy (199GBP). Will I get charged again if I hit this or will I be able to download for free?

Apologies if this is a newbie question, it's my first time with Family Sharing...

You can download it for free directly from her account.

Try this:

  1. While logged in to your wife account open the Mac App Store on her computer.
  2. Make sure she is logged in on the app store.
  3. Go to the Purchased tab and look at the top left were it says 'Purchases'.
  4. You can see a small menu that says "My Purchases":

  1. Click and choose your account instead and you should now have the Logic Pro X install available as a download.
  2. Click download and enjoy.

Hope that helps.

I've not tried this on the mac because I'm the only one, but it works essentially the same under iOS. In the app store, go to purchased on the top menu bar. Then you can pick who made the purchases in the top left. That should let you download the app from there without being charged again. If you just go the normal route it will charge you.

Hopefully that will work for you.

Open the App Store on your wife's computer and log in with the Apple ID you have previously bought Logic Pro X from the App Store. Now, search for Logic Pro X and you should see the Install button.

After the installation and download of the files you need, you can log out of your Apple ID account. Whenever there is an update for Logic, the App Store you remind you, and it asks you to log in with that Apple ID again if you want to download any future updates.

And to make sure. You wife is not allowed to use Logic on that computer while you work at the same time in Logic on your computer. Install the app on as many computers you have access to, but only use one at a time.

Hope that helps
