Why can't I see my AirPods as a device in AppleID?

I have paired my Airpods with my iPhone and my iPad and they are listed under "Bluetooth" on both however they do not show as a device in my AppleID. Because of this, I cannot use "Find my IPhone" to find my AirPods (which are dead wherever they are!!)

They won't show as a device in your Apple ID device list. See the following from Check your Apple ID device list to see where you're signed in - Apple Support

Your AirPods will appear in the Find My iPhone app, but they won't appear in your Apple ID device list. You can remove your AirPods from your account using Find My iPhone.

The following may help with information about AirPods which no longer have a charge: If your AirPods are lost - Apple Support
