Question: Not able to watch TV shows using my provider id

I have a MacBook Air, 1.3 Ghz, 4GB, Storage capacity: 250.79 GB of which 80.96 GB is available. I recently downloaded OS High Sierra, Version 10.13.1. Problem: I cannot watch TV programs on my computer that require my user ID from my provider. Before I downloaded this OS version, this was not a problem. Specifically, MSNBC requires a download of 'MyNewswire'. That does not download. ABC simply keeps saying I have to login, even after I have logged in through my provider. Before I downloaded High Sierra, I had NO problem watching any TV programs live or after a show had aired. Please advise. Thank you.
