My texts arent ringing on iphone x when i have my watch on now

On my new iphone x it doesnt ring for my text messages anymore, but it dings my iwatch. With my old 7 it rang both and i cant find anything on phone that says to not ring phone. Anybody got any ideas whats going on. My calls ring just not texts and i am using the face id, but also when phone is unlocked and open my texts will ring then???????
