Links clicked in Mail do not open in Chrome

Chrome is my default browser. Since upgrading to High Sierra 10.13.1, I am unable to open links in Mail by clicking them--it just opens a new blank Chrome browser window. Switching to Safari as my default browser solves the problem, but I don't want Safari as my default browser--I want Chrome. Is this a known bug or is there a fix?
